Face tracking

USING EVERYONE ELSE’S LIBRARIES AND ADDING A FEW LINES OF CODE I FEEL LIKE A GENIUS!!!
Well, programmers usually hate using stuff they don’t know how to build themselves. But sometimes, something is just too cool not to have a play.

I got inspired (i.e. i copied) the ideas of a student doing his Thesis using FaceAPI head-tracking software and coupling them into Valve’s Source Engine.

Basically your screen turns into a window INTO another world (and yes it will only work for one person).

So could I do the same in flash? Well yes, but very badly.

Sparks – face detection – library Basically screen the information streaming from a web cam for a face, and you got yourself low-tech head-tracking kit. However it doesn’t recognise orientation of the head, and it is a bit ropey about how it decided what is a face, namely because the code was designed to find a face on a 2d-motionless picture, not a face ducking and diving around in realtime from a webcamera.

I wasn’t going to put time and effort into figuring out how to reproduce FaceAPI in flash, but by the looks of it someone is trying
